In 2020, around 2.2 million people in the UK were identified as being clinically extremely vulnerable and at high risk to Covid19, and told to shield. In 2021 I contacted people in my local area of Camberwell, south London, who’d had to stay at home at the height of the pandemic. After they had been hidden away for so many months I wanted to give them the opportunity to be seen and heard.

The result was this series of portrait photographs and stories, which formed a pop-up exhibition on the railings of Denmark Hill train station as part of Camberwell Arts Week 2021.
